Please Meet Freshman Naylissa Bradford
Meet Naylissa Bradford. Naylissa is a Freshman who is majoring in Psychology. "I want to do research on how incarcerated family members affect the family, advocate for people who specialize in this training to come to Idaho, and prisoners rights."
Naylissa is the first born out of three, first gen, goofy, loyal, love helping and uplifting people, a Scorpio, and her favorite color is blue.
"If I could go back a few years, I would start to love myself a lot earlier on and stop listening to the people around me who would constantly put me down for being me." She said.
Naylissa is thrilled to continue the sports she loves. "I wouldn't have made it on bigger college teams." She adds, "I love the small close knit feel."
Naylissa I'm starting feel myself go back to the version of myself that I love.. Her biggest influencer
would be Miranda (Armbruster) has really helped me. "She always makes me feel comfortable and she's graduating early which is such a boost to know that people do graduate and can make it. She just never made me feel like I was less than her and she always notices when I'm in my head or anxious."

Naylissa smiled when asked who her favorite Disney character would be. "Lilo from Lilo and Stitch." And without Vampire Diaries and Glimore Girls, she may not have made it through this semester.
"I'm proud I'm becoming more vulnerable. If I could tell my high school self one thing, it would be 'I'm so proud of you. You worked through so much trauma the last four years and you were still able to achieve your goals. I love you and we're getting to where we wanted to be.'
This is Naylissa's first year on the dance line.

Please meet Freshman Paige Nihart
Meet Paige Nihart.
Paige is a Freshman. "I am majoring in chemistry and I plan on becoming a chemical engineer with a minor in education. I have been dancing for about 9 years now and I love it everyday. I danced at my studio 10 hours a week in all styles of dance. I was also on the Ridgevue high school dance team."
Paige says if she could go back a few years, she would enjoy the little things in life more. "I was always busy and doing a million different things that I never had time to stop and enjoy the little things."
Well being a YOTE was a great decision, but she can’t say that her best decision was getting a short haircut when she was 9 and her hair went to her ears, "it was the worst decision of my life!" She laughed.
Paige loves the community here at The College of Idaho. "Everyone is so accepting and kind that I feel apart of something bigger. I have made great friends and have done amazing things."
And her favorite Disney character would be stitch. "I think he is the best Disney character because he is so relatable. I wouldn’t want to trade places with him."
Paige is more confident in herself, especially when meeting new people. "Everyone is so accepting here that I have been able to step outside my comfort zone."
Her biggest infulencer would be Professor Thurston, her chemistry professor. "I was nervous coming into college that I wouldn’t be good or like chemistry as much as I did in high school. His teaching reminded me how much I like chemistry. He is also willing to sit down with me and help me figure out how to become a chemical engineer."
Other great influencers in her world would be her former dance academy. "I want to thank my dance studio so much for helping me become a great dancer and person. I wouldn’t be how I am today without all of my teachers pushing me. They helped me through so many ups and downs. I am proud that ones I was a Canyon Dance Academy Dancer"
Her guilty pleasure that has helped her through college is the TV Show "Friends."
Paige added, "One last thing, enjoy your senior year with your friends and family, because in college you don’t see them as much."
Please Meet Sophomore Reese Kinney!
Meet Reese Kinney. Reese is going into Biomedical sciences, with hopes of going into ophthalmology! "Hi! I’m a sophomore here at The College of Idaho! I graduated from Caldwell high & am so glad that I stayed close to home to be able to watch my brothers grow up! Before coming to The College of Idaho I danced for 14 years!"
She says if she could go back a few years, she would let herself live a little.
All in fun, when asked who her favorite Disney hero is, Reese answered, "I think one of my favorite Disney hero’s has to be Tiana from ‘Princess and the Frog’. She works so much and all for herself. As much as I admire her drive & perseverance, I wouldn’t switch places with her."
Reese What biggest change have you seen in yourself because of your decision to become a YOTE? "Confidence. I have come out of my shell a little bit & am starting to grow as a person!" Reese added, "the connections you make with peers, professors, and just anyone around campus. The College of Idaho is a special place."
When asked who her biggest influencer
is, Reese replied, "I think my biggest influence this year would have to be my teammate Jordan Payne. Jordan has this way of changing the mood in a room, he can always put a smile on my face & never ceases to hype me up when I’ve had a bad day. He reminds me to be more positive & I am so lucky to have a teammate & best friend like him!"
