tryouts for Purple Illusion Dance Line have moved on line!

Questions regarding tryouts for The Purple Illusion Dance Line

Due to the COVID-19, the campus will be closed during our tryout time.  

Since scholarships are decided at tryouts, we will be doing video tryouts instead.

The good news is if you were traveling for in person tryouts-  there is no need to now!

I will include on this email what needs to be in your video tryout.  Keep in mind, these can be phone videos-  they do not need to be anything fancy, but do need to be clear, and if you are in a large group-  please make sure we can tell who you are.  (This can be as simple as a an email saying, "I am the second on the left side of the screen.")  (An easy way to do this, is wear a different color shirt than the others in the group)

The video can be multiple short videos, and do not need to be in 1 long format.  

They can be sent in many different ways.  

• You can upload them to youtube and make them private only sharing with me
• You can send them via dropbox (yotescheerleaders@gmail.com)
• You can send them via google drive (yotescheerleaders@gmail.com)
• You can send them via email (yotescheerleaders@gmail.com or gganderson@collegeofidaho.edu)
• You can send them via Wetransfer  (gganderson@collegeofidaho.edu)

Below is a list of things we ask your video contain.  Please remember SAFETY is very important to us, so please don't do anything you are not able to do safely, and confidently for your tryout. Please know, we DO need to see as much as possible, and if it is a skill you cannot do, please simply video tape yourself stating why that skill can't be completed.

The Health form and Liability forms need to be completed and simply emailed back.

  

You need to make sure your video contains the following:

• Introduction of you
• Why you want to be part of the team
• A dance performed (this could be a group routine that your mom videoed on her phone even)
• Right Splits
• Left Splits
• Right Leap
• Left Leap
• Single Pirouette
• Double Pirouette
• Kick combo and 8 of rights and 8 of lefts and an 8 of alternating front
• Short combo of your choice
• Calypso
• Pitch Kick
• Lastly, show us what other skills you have that you would like us to see.
